We are looking for a technically proficient Energy Analyst with expertise in Solar Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), as well as hybrid renewable energy systems. The ideal candidate will be experienced in conducting feasibility studies, optimizing hybrid configurations, supporting bid processes and performing technical due diligence for utility-scale renewable energy projects.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge renewable projects, leveraging simulation software, data science techniques and field assessments across different project stages.

2.1 Energy System Advisory

  • Solar PV Plant Analysis: Perform comprehensive energy yield analysis, including solar resource assessment, technology selection, tilt and pitch optimization, and detailed shadow analysis (near-shading and horizon shading).
  • System Design & Optimization: Conduct string sizing and optimization for both fixed-tilt and tracker systems.
  • Financial & Technical Documentation: Prepare bankable detailed project reports, feasibility studies, and technical due diligence reports.
  • Tender and Bid Support: Understand and interpret tender requirements from major agencies like NTPC, SECI, SJVN, GUVNL, and key players in the Middle East.
  • Cost and Financial Modelling: Develop and analyze project Bill of Quantities (BOQ), including CAPEX, OPEX, and Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) estimations.
  • Engineering & Contracts: Work on Detailed Engineering and Owner’s Engineering projects and assist with drafting contracts and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for utility-scale solar PV plants.
  • Technical Drawing Analysis: Understand basic DC Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and AC system SLDs
  • Conduct feasibility studies for multimegawatt-scale PV and BESS plants, including equipment selection, layout design and energy yield prediction (P50/P75/P90).
  • Compute and optimize plant configurations, including DC overload analysis, tilt-pitch optimization and plant sizing.

2.2 Hybrid Project Design & Optimization

  • Design and optimize hybrid systems (e.g., PV + BESS, PV + Wind + PSP) using Python and other scientific computing platforms.
  • Perform battery sizing based on load profiles and grid/offtaker requirements.
  • Develop and apply Python-based tools for simulation, control logic and optimization studies.
  • Evaluate technical bids and warranty documentation for hybrid renewable systems.

2.3 Technical Due Diligence

  • Conduct independent technical due diligence of operational and planned renewable energy projects.
  • Review technology specifications, layout drawings, contracts, certifications and warranties.
  • Identify technical risks and recommend corrective measures to ensure optimal plant performance.

2.4 Plant Performance Monitoring

  • Analyse operational plant data (SCADA, irradiance, temperature) to assess plant health and performance.
  • Apply data-driven methods (including AI/ML where applicable) to detect underperformance and system anomalies.
  • Evaluate component-level performance: PV arrays, WTGs, inverters, converters, batteries, energy meters, etc.
  • Develop Python/VBA-based automation scripts for data processing, reporting and performance analytics.

2.5 Technology Evaluation & Component Assessment

  • Conduct techno-commercial evaluation of PV modules, inverters, converters, battery cells, racks and BESS systems.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in renewable energy technologies and share relevant updates internally.
  • Review PV module certifications, BOMs, CDFs, and testing standards for compliance and quality control.

2.6 Testing & Field Support

  • Participate in site visits for feasibility assessment, inspection and acceptance testing.
  • Review and validate PR (Performance Ratio) testing methodologies and acceptance procedures proposed by EPCs or third parties.

3 Competency

  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems: PV, wind, hybrid, BESS
  • Proficiency in Python and Excel (including VBA) for data analytics, automation and tool development.
